What do I need for my appointment?
Please bring your completed document and valid identification. If you document has not already been signed, please wait to sign it at your appointment. Some types of notarizations require you to sign in the notary's presence.
What forms of ID are accepted?
Please bring a current government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID, military ID, or passport. Other government-issued identification may also be accepted if it meets Massachusetts requirements. If you're unsure whether your ID qualifies, please contact us before your appointment.
Do I need to sign my document in front of the notary?
It depends on the type of notarization. Some documents must be signed in the notary's presence, while others may be signed beforehand. If you're unsure, wait until your appointment to sign, or check with the person or organization that asked you to have the document notarized.
Does the signer need to be present for the notarization?
Yes. The person whose signature is being notarized must personally appear before the notary. A document cannot be notarized on someone else's behalf.
Can I use an expired ID?
Generally, no. Massachusetts requires identification used for notarization to be current. If your ID is expired, contact us before booking to discuss whether another acceptable form of identification is available.
What if my document requires witnesses?
Some documents require one or more witnesses in addition to notarization. You may provide your own eligible witness(es), or witness services may be available upon request for a fee. In some circumstances, the notary may also serve as a witness. Witness eligibility depends on the document and applicable requirements, and witnesses generally should not have a financial or beneficial interest in the document being signed. Please let us know when booking if witnesses are needed.
Can you notarize documents for someone in a hospital, rehab, or care facility?
Yes. Mobile notary appointments are available at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and other care facilities. The signer must be willing and able to communicate with the notary and demonstrate an understanding of the notarization.
Can you notarize documents at my home or workplace?
Yes! We offer convenient mobile notary services and can meet you at your home, workplace, or another agreed-upon location such as a library or coffee shop within our service area.
Do you offer Remote Online Notarizations (RON)?
Not at this time. Massachusetts law allows Remote Online Notifications (RON), but the state has not yet implemented the required training and registration process for notaries. Once RON becomes fully available in Massachusetts, we plan to offer this service.
How much does a mobile notary appointment cost?
Mobile notary appointments start at $125. Pricing varies based on travel distance, number of notarizations, parking access and requirements, additional time needed to reach the signer within a facility, and evening or weekend appointments. Any applicable fees will be clearly shown before you book and pay for your appointment.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Appointments must be booked and paid at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day and urgent appointments be available for an additional rush fee.
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment are eligible for a full refund, less nonrefundable payment-processing fees. For cancellations with 24 hours, processing fees and any travel, mileage, witness, printing, parking, or toll expenses already incurred or committed are nonrefundable.
No-shows are nonrefundable.
